Jackson is an artistic wine made in collaboration with the friends of Colbacco. It’s an homage to Jackson Pollock. The wine is like a canvas made with a blend of Syrah (Colbacco vineyards), Malvasia Bianca from Basilicata and Sangiovese (Dune Bianche vineyards). Syrah has 2 days of maceration and is aged in steel for approximately 10 months. The Malvasia has approximately 4 months of maceration in steel while the Sangiovese has a maceration of 15 days and refinement in exhausted oak barrels. The aim was to stain the opulent part of the syrah by trying to give a more contemporary tone to the wine. The labels are made with the dripping technique to recall the technique of the american painter, giving life to a single canvas of 1480 bottles.
